Nan Wang Professor • Department of Computer Science View CV Website Dr. Nan Wang is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at William Paterson University of New Jersey. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Mississippi State University (2009). Dr. Wang’s research spans blockchain technology, generative AI, data science, and computational biology. She has published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers on topics including bioinformatics, gene regulatory networks, and machine learning, with recent work focusing on blockchain applications and self-evolving AI systems. She co-authored Blockchain for Beginners: A Project-Based Approach (Cogella, 2024–2025) and is preparing two additional textbooks on Python and calculus. She has participated on significant research funding as PI/Co-PI, including a $1M NSF grant (2020–2025) for the Math and Computer Science Scholars Program. Dr. Wang actively contributes to academic service, leading curriculum development for graduate programs, mentoring students in STEM initiatives, and advising the Computer Science student club. Prior to joining William Paterson in 2023, she held associate professor roles at New Jersey City University (2017–2023) and the University of Southern Mississippi (2008–2017).
