Ali Saghiri

Professor • Department of Computer Science

Dr. Ali Mohammad Saghiri is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at William Paterson University and the founder and director of the ACBOS Virtual Research Laboratory (AI, Cognitive Systems, Blockchain, and Open-Source Computing), dedicated to building adaptive, decentralized, and intelligent systems at the frontier of modern computing.

Dr. Saghiri has authored 5 books published through Springer,and Amazon, along with 7 book chapters in volumes published by Elsevier and Springer. His research spans 20 peer-reviewed journal papers and 25+ conference papers, accumulating over 1,758 citations. His work has appeared in prestigious venues including IEEE Access, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Applied Soft Computing, Knowledge-Based Systems, Applied Intelligence, Journal of Network and Computer Applications, Journal of Computational Science, The Journal of Supercomputing, and Genetic Programming and Evolvable Machines. His conference contributions have been published through IEEE and Springer LNCS.

He serves as Guest Editor for Applied Sciences (MDPI) and Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering, and sits on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Advances in Applied Sciences. He actively reviews for over a dozen leading IEEE journals, including IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Access, IEEE Internet of Things, and IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security.
Prior to joining William Paterson, Dr. Saghiri held postdoctoral research positions at Stevens Institute of Technology, working on AI cybersecurity, peer-to-peer energy trading, Central Bank Digital Currencies, and blockchain-based systems. He also served as a research consultant at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, applying Digital Twins and AI to healthcare research.

Through the ACBOS Lab, Dr. Saghiri mentors graduate and undergraduate students on active research projects in AI, Blockchain, IoT, and Open-Source Systems, with a track record of helping students reach publication in international venues.
