Assistant Director Graduate Admissions

Reporting to the Director of Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Services, the Assistant Director is responsible for counseling, recruitment, admissions and enrollment of graduate students. 

This twelve (12) month position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes tuition waiver for dependents upon eligibility.   

Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the development of recruitment strategies 
  • Advises applicants in the area of Teacher Education including Elementary, Middle and Secondary school levels, and various certificate programs.
  • Reviewing and evaluating applications and credentials 
  • Making recommendations and or determinations concerning eligibility for graduate programs 
  • Planning, organizing and coordinating events 
  • Reviewing and updating marketing materials and websites 
  • Compiling and analyzing data and preparing informative reports.
  • Working collaboratively with varied constituencies to facilitate admission and retention of graduate students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, masters strongly preferred. 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in admissions in a higher education environment, preferably with graduate or adult programs.
  • Candidates must demonstrate past accomplishments and success in the admissions arena. 
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends when necessary for special events and programming.
  • Driver’s license valid in New Jersey as well as the ability to travel inter and intra state is required.  
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and oral) as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a high degree of professionalism are required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Teacher Education or a related filed. 
  • Familiarity of SCT BANNER, SAS and CRM technologies is strongly.
  • Knowledge of computer databases, information systems and technologies including electronic applications and the utilization of the web and new media for recruitment are essential.
