World Language Coordinator

The World Language Coordinator works with the Department Chair coordinating lower division world language teaching for undergraduate students within the Department of Languages and Cultures. S/he works closely and collaboratively with faculty, colleagues, and internal departments to promote world language learning. This is a half-time twelve (12) month position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinates the creation of lower-division Midterm and Final exams including corresponding practice exams; identifies and recruits adjunct faculty for world language courses; organizes class observations, events and professional development activities and meetings. The World Language Coordinator also maintains updated and accurate information on department web page and supports language assessment activities as needed.

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Foreign/Second Language Education or related areas is required.

The selected candidate will possess managerial and/or foreign language teaching experience at the college level; strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word, and Excel. Professional training and experience in lower-division language pedagogy and assessment preferred.
