William Paterson University seeks an enthusiastic, experienced academic leader to fill the position of Executive Director of the Honors College. The Executive Director participates as a member of the leadership team in the Division of Academic Affairs, reporting directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President. Under the direction of the Provost, the Executive Director serves as the chief academic, fiscal and administrative officer of the Honors College in support of the University’s goals of student success and academic excellence. In conjunction with faculty, staff and other members of the Administration, the Executive Director provides campus-wide leadership in developing and implementing appropriate academic and co-curricular activities that promote the recruitment, retention, and timely graduation of high achieving undergraduate students at the University.  

The successful candidate will have a doctorate or other terminal degree from an accredited college or university, with a strong record of research, scholarship and service. The successful candidate will also possess a combined minimum of five (5) years of full-time teaching experience at a four-year college or university and successful administrative experience in higher education at the level of department chair or equivalent, and possess experience working with honors programs in higher education. Other required qualifications include excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, and other administrators, in addition to a demonstrated commitment to and experience with diversity issues in higher education.

The successful candidate may be eligible for concurrent faculty rank and appointment in a relevant academic department. This position may be eligible for consideration for tenure by exceptional action as well.
