William Paterson University invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Educational Leadership and Professional Studies to start September 2017. Teaching responsibilities include evening and weekend graduate courses offered in traditional, online, hybrid and weekend formats in a graduate cohort model program intended to prepare educators for a variety of leadership positions in P-12 public schools, including supervision of field-based internship experiences. College-level teaching experience in the areas of leadership, educational research, curriculum development and implementation, instructional supervision, public school finance, school law, and program evaluation are preferred. Also preferred is experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses; evidence of a commitment to educating diverse learners and fostering multicultural perspectives; and dedication to a comprehensive, field based program.
An earned doctorate in education from a nationally accredited institution in educational leadership is required. (ABD considered for initial appointment at the rank of instructor with degree completion within the academic year required). Experience in P-12 public school teaching, and at least five years of experience as a school principal is required. Active participation in professional organizations as well as knowledge of national and state leadership standards and assessments and experience in accreditation review processes preferred. Engaging in research and publication and a commitment to service to the department, college, and the university community is expected and highly valued.
