Kyung-Hyan (Angie) Yoo is a Professor of Communication and Director of the SMART (Social Media Applications, Research and Teaching) Lab in the Department of Communication within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Science. Her research focuses on electronic word-of-mouth, online trust, social media communication, persuasive technology, online information search and decision-making, and other issues related to the role of information communication technology in audience behaviors and decision-making. She has been involved in research projects on online travel reviews and social media use by travelers, which were funded by TripAdvisor, the Travel Industry Association of America, and several local destination marketing organizations. Yoo has authored journal articles and book chapters on social media marketing, consumer-generated media, and online trust. Her manuscripts have been published in top peer-review journals, including Public Relations Review, Computers in Human Behavior, and Journal of Information Technology & Tourism.
