Nishikant Satam Professor • Department of Chemistry View CV Nishikant Satam previously served as an NIH Postdoctoral Scholar at Northeastern University where his research focused on medicinal chemistry and anticancer agents. Nishikant earned his B.S. in Chemistry from V.G. Vaze College, Mumbai University, his Masters in Organic Chemistry program at S.P College at Pune University, and his Ph.D. in 2019 from the Indian Institute of Technology—Bombay. His graduate research focused on novel synthetic methodologies for the generation of novel hetero- and carbo-cycles scaffolds for medicinal chemistry. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and serves as a Reviewer for the American Chemical Society (ACS) and (Royal Society of Chemistry) RSC journals. Professional Interests At William Paterson University, Dr. Satam research group is focus on Green approach synthesis molecules. The research focuses on developing sustainable approaches or modern synthetic tools such as electrochemistry and photochemistry to provide unique access to different scaffolds of bioactive molecules. The group plans to use these methods to prepare natural products for the medicinal chemistry and SAR studies. Other Interests Apart from my focus on research, I have a strong passion for sports and outdoor activities. I enjoy playing cricket, soccer, badminton, and chess. Additionally, I love hiking, which allows me to explore nature, disconnect from daily routines, and enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors. Apart from that I also experiment on my cooking skills.
