Karen Phillips Professor • School of Nursing View CV Dr. Karen Phillips is a Professor of Nursing at WPU. She has a Master of Science in Nursing and an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Phillips is the co-coordinator of both the second semester of the upper division undergraduate junior nursing students and the School Nurse Certification Program. Dr. Phillips also coordinates the Master of Science in School Nursing. She teaches courses in the graduate nursing programs at William Paterson. She has also mentored students pursuing their DNP. Dr. Phillips has been in nursing for over 48 years, specializing in Maternal Child. She was a certified Lactation Consultant and Childbirth Educator for 10 years and continues to research strategies to improve breastfeeding rates. Dr. Phillips has presented her research nationally and internationally and has several publications from her research studies.
