Heejung An Professor • Educational Leadership and Professional Studies View CV Website Dr. An is the chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Professional Studies and a professor specializing in instructional technology, STEM/STEAM education, and assessment. She has served as the director of the STEAM / Arts Integration grant program entitled "Inclusive Arts Integration," funded by the Geraldine Dodge Foundation (2017 - 2023). Dr. An was also the director of the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (2013-2015) grant program entitled "Exploring Korea's History, Culture, and Education System through Experiential Learning," funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Her work has been published in Young Children, Computers & Education, TechTrends, Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D), Computers in the Schools, Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education (CITE), the Journal of Online Learning Research (JOLR), and the Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education. Dr. An received her Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University. Professional Interests Dr. An's research centers on the intersection of cognition and instructional technologies, the design of student-centered, active online learning environments, STEM/STEAM education, digital equity, effective design and delivery of professional development and learning, and women in leadership.
