Professor • Educational Leadership and Professional Studies

Dr. An is a professor of instructional technology, STEM/STEAM education, and the director of the M. Ed in Curriculum and Learning Program at the College of Education, William Paterson University. Dr. An was the director of the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (2013-2015) grant program entitled "Exploring Korea's History, Culture, and Education System through Experiential Learning," funded by the U.S. Department of Education. She currently serves as the director of a STEAM / Arts Integration grant funded by the Geraldine Dodge Foundation (2017 - present). Her work has been published in Young Children, Computers & Education, TechTrends, Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D), Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education (CITE), Computers in the Schools, and the Journal of Digital Learning in Teacher Education. Dr. An received her Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Professional Interests

Dr. An's research centers on the intersection of cognition and instructional technologies, STEM/STEAM education, curriculum design, assessment and evaluation, digital equity, and the effective design and delivery of professional development and professional learning.
