July 19-23: The Foundations of Career Readiness

The purpose of this course is to provide insight, plan, and the tools for plan execution for high school students to understand how career readiness begins with self-evaluation and being able to discuss accomplishments in a way that others can hear.  At the end of the course, students will make a 3 -4 minute presentation on topics they learned from the coursework and how it relates to their own career readiness.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Discuss how language informs personal identity, thinking, and interacting   
  2. Describe and frame measurable results resulting from tasks and activities
  3. Describe the various parts of both a resume and job description
  4. Integrate the various parts of a resume with the various parts of a job description
  5. Tell an impactful, personal story of accomplishment
