Conflict Resolution (9am-12pm) & Intro to Neurobiology (1-4pm) 7/14-7/19/19 Resident

Negotiating & Conflict Resolution 9am - 12pm

A practical, highly interactive program designed for high school students to teach them essential communication and negotiation skills to effectively compete and succeed in and out of the classroom. Students will learn communication techniques, negotiation tactics, and mediation tools that will help them build confidence, persuade and influence others, handle difficult people and situations, and foster their leadership potential. Through real-life simulations, students will engage in negotiations, mediations and creative problem-solving, developing an invaluable skill set that they can use and apply throughout their lives.

 

Introduction to Neurobiology 1-4pm

Have you wondered how the brain works? In this class, we shall explore the functional anatomy as well as the physiology of the nervous system. We will explore how the sensory system functions and how does it helps us to feel and experience the world around us through our senses. We will also study how the nervous system controls the motor system to create intricate body movements for sports and dancing. Lastly, we shall discuss different neurological disorders that may arise when your brain is damaged or malfunctions. Come and explore the infinite possibilities of your brain and nervous system!

 

Residential Option for High School Half-Day Programs 7/14-7/19/19

William Paterson University lays down the foundation to prepare student for success, with this option to stay on campus to experience college life.  While the focus is on academics and learning, the social experience that results from bringing students together is an integral part of our summer program.  Students discover the joy of living, studying, and relaxing on a beautiful suburban university campus with state-of-the-art facilities, design, and technology. Students will participate in structured and supervised evening activities, dine in our cafeteria, students will be assigned a roommate and two suitemates to meet new friends.  College and graduate students are hired to mentor, supervise and reside with the resident students.  This is an opportunity not to be missed! The fee includes room and board and all supervised evening activities.
