GAME DESIGN

The workshop is designed to provide the beginning skills to developing games. We will cover aspects including planning, managing files, images, strategies, navigation, programming and more. The student will use these concepts and skills, combined with their artistic vision to create at least two sample games. The instructors will be given access to resources to help them succeed including Internet links, materials, plans, guidelines and access to professionals who can answer questions.

LET'S TAKE A RIDE ON SIR ISAAC NEWTON'S ROLLER COASTER

Students will conduct several hands on labs using the concepts of Newton's three laws of motion, kinetic and potential energy. Mini-lessons, videos, podcasts, digital presentations, interesting texts, investigations, models, online simulations and hands-on labs will be used to explore Newton's Three Laws of Motion and how they relate to roller coasters.  Students will understand and explore different forms of energy such as kinetic and potential energy and make real world connections.
