June 26-June 29:(4 Days):Adventures of Art Through the Ages (Grades 4 - 6)

Get ready to travel through the ages to discuss two periods of art and become an artist of the times. First stop is the Prehistoric Age of cave painters to create your own cave art by following the natural lines and discover the animals that pop right out for you to draw. Forward ahead through time to the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt and write your name in hieroglyphics. Then spin around and jump ahead into the Byzantine Empire to create a mosaic. Then onward to the knights of the Middle Ages and the stained glass of the Gothic churches. Next, we will venture to the Renaissance and try our hand at the Sistine Chapel like Michelangelo. Whewww… time to meet the artists who bridge us to Modern Art and onward to the Impressionists and Pointillism to create a piece like Seurat. Meet the Fauves, also known as the beasts, with the Cubists. Then try your hand at Abstract Expressionism and let your emotions rule. The last stop on our journey will be Pop Art.
