Adobe CC Web Design & Coding - Online

Please note: This course will be conducted synchronously online via Blackboard Collaborate. Students must have access to the Adobe CC Dreamweaver software.

Adobe offers student discounts. If you have a .edu email, you automatically qualify for the discount. Enrollment in this course does not qualify for the discount. See Adobe.com for details.

Pre-Requisites

The course is designed for all skill levels.  No experience with these software programs is required. However, please be comfortable using Microsoft Windows and Windows File Management prior to enrolling in this course.

The Online Course Environment

Synchronous, instructor led virtual classroom using Blackboard Collaborate provides personal engagement with the students.

Course Overview

This is an introductory course in Web Design and Coding.

Adobe Dreamweaver is an industry standard for creating and editing websites. It is a code generator. Meaning, the Dreamweaver Design will generate HTML and CSS code as you drag-and-drop you element onto your page. It makes the whole process easier than line-by-line coding. But understanding the code is important too, and this course covers the basic syntax of both HTML and CSS. Being able to edit to code give you the designed unlimited control over your web pages.

Course Objectives

Skill builder - Students will be able to:

  • Code HTML and CSS
  • Create and stylize links
  • Use web fonts to stylize text
  • Create the mobile version of the website
  • Insert widgets in a webpage
  • Use CSS to stylize webpage
  • Convert a static webpage into a responsive one
  • Code for mobile devices
  • Upload content to a web server
Our Instructor:

Frank Asciutto is an Instructional Designer, Digital Technology Instructor and Educational Technologist specializing in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. He has 12 years of classroom teaching experience supplemented with online course development and delivery using Blackboard. Before joining William Paterson University, Frank was an accomplished corporate IT systems manager with over 20 years of experience designing and implementing a variety of financial applications. Frank earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology in 2012 from Boise State Universitynand is a Certified Microsoft Office Master.
