(ONLINE) How to be a Highly Effective Substitute in 2020 Part 2!

Part Two: Wednesday, December 9, 2020

Learn the essential skills needed to be a substitute teacher in New Jersey public schools during a global pandemic.  The program is designed for participants to become effective substitute teachers by providing a “toolbox” of ideas and materials for individuals to gain critical classroom skills and manage any grade-level classroom. Participants will learn the following effective classroom management strategies, relevant legal issues, curriculum planning, school processing policies, and pathway to permanent certification.

  1. Various school models for reopening schools including In-person, hybrid, and remote models
  2. Safe and secure schools
  3. Using various platforms for remote learning, including "Google classroom, google meet and zoom"
  4. Creating a Digital Teacher "toolbox"
  5. Teaching strategies
  6. Synchronous and Asynchronous teaching

Note that in New Jersey, substitutes need to have earned a minimum of 60 college credits.
