Science Education for the Next Generation: People, Food, Energy, and Sustainability
Target Audience: Secondary Educators
Description: Discover data-based activities that focus on the global issues your students care about! During this workshop, teachers will participate in several NGSS and New Jersey Student Learning Standards aligned lesson plans from Population Education. These activities use real-world data to evaluate and solve the world’s most pressing problems such as human population growth, climate change, and resource scarcity. Recommended for secondary science and social studies teachers, participants will leave the workshop with dozens of lesson plans that will engage their students and promote critical thinking and problem solving skills. Leave with access to an online resource library with over forty standards-aligned lesson plans specific to their grade band.
