Music Industry Academy (Resident) 7/11-7/22/16

3rd Annual Audio Recording Workshop 7/11-7/15/2016

Learn about the art and practice of recording from industry professionals.  Participants will have hands-on experience in a professional recording studio and take part in recording and mixing sessions.  Students will also learn about running a recording session, microphone techniques, improving room acoustics, developing critical listening skills, tips on using DAW software and computer interface, signal processing, how to polish a mix, and careers in audio.  The program will end at noon on Friday.

 

Songwriting and Music Industry Camp 7/18-7/22/16

Study songwriting and the business of the music industry from industry pros and William Paterson University faculty members. This summer camp will include: the art of songwriting; the art of lyric writing; creativity and the creative process; song promotion; powerful pop chord progressions; song structure; writing to a track; the creative life; performance rights organizations; recording companies; contracts; social media’s role in the music and entertainment industry.  The program will end at noon on Friday.

College Resident Experience Description:

William Paterson University lays down the foundation to prepare student for success, with an option to stay on campus to experience college life.  While the focus is on academics and learning, the social experience that results from bringing students together is an integral part of our summer program.  Students discover the joy of living, studying, and relaxing on a beautiful suburban university campus with state-of-the-art facilities, design, and technology. Students will participate in structured and supervised evening activities and dine in our cafeteria (students will be assigned a roommate and two suitemates).  Resident students will participate in evening enrichment workshops with other Pre-College summer youth residents’ on-campus for social activities. College students are hired to mentor, supervise and reside with the resident students.   

This is an opportunity not to be missed!

Only students who have registered for a full-day or combination of two half-day programs (morning and afternoon) have the option to register for the College Resident Experience.
