You'll learn to create visual images that communicate ideas with humor and wit. Learn tips and tricks from a professional cartoonist and caricature artist with over 40 years experience, and turn any face into funny, whimsical comics and cartoons.

Afternoon Program: Words that Burn

Performance poetry has become a popular and celebrated art form in recent decades. Combining elements of music, theater, writing, and performance “slam” poetry (as it is known) has become a way for people on the “outside” to express themselves. In this workshop, students of all ages and writing levels will learn how to communicate their thoughts, opinions, and feelings in a way that is both creative and clear. In addition to literary analysis and creative (as well as non-fiction) writing techniques, students will develop real world communication skills such as public speaking and performance. Students will find their unique writer’s voice and learn how to make the world hear what they have to say.
