Money Matters and Intermediate Programs 8/1-8/5/16

Morning Program: Money Matters 

In this fun course, students will create a budget, find a place to live and buy a car.  They will also make a grocery list, and figure out if they can afford to eat out all based on their budgets. But wait, they have to use cash! Students will be making grown-up decisions:  “Should I live in a luxury apartment or get a roommate?” “Should I buy a new or used car?” “What should your entertainment budget be?” All is fun and games until “life happens”, where real-life situations take place and you students have to budget for them. Come join our class and learn that managing money can be fun and…no credit cards allowed!

Afternoon Program: Intermediate Programming 

Students with a basic foundation in programming (preferably C++, but any structured language will work) will expand their knowledge to include collaborative programming with higher level functions.  The student will take their preliminary knowledge of coding and learn to understand shared coding responsibility, creating libraries, sharing functions in an interactive, fun and educational setting.  During the process students will learn independent coding over the beginning courses follow the leader approach.
