Careers in Healthcare Academy 7/18-7/29/2016

Future Nurses (Commuters) 7/18-7/22/2016 (8:30am - 4:00pm)

This workshop provides a great opportunity to get an inside view of nursing and learn up-to-date procedures. Students are introduced to real-life nursing as they experience patient contact with RN supervision, as well as training for professional CPR certification, including the use of a defibrillator. It also includes a field trip to a medical facility.  The program will end at noon on Friday.

Intro to Public Health: Career and Life 7/25-7/29/16 (8:30am - 12:00pm)

Public health improves the shared conditions and behaviors that affect the health of each and every one of us. Students will learn about public health efforts ranging from containing deadly infectious diseases to pushing for healthier lifestyles, from preventing diseases to eliminating health disparities, and from providing basic sanitation to ensuring safe food and water. Based on their interest, students will develop solutions for some of the most critical problems in public health that directly impact their communities and schools.
