Workshop Description:

The October 26 workshop topic will be: Maintaining Friendships as an Adult. The CDC notes that social bonds are vital for emotional, psychological, and even physical health. People that develop and maintain rich social networks buffer themselves against depression that arises in part due to feelings of isolation. In fact, healthy social networks are one of the most important factors to aging well and maintaining a healthy lifestyle into your golden years. However, after primary or secondary education, it can be difficult to create and maintain friendships—both due to lack of time and often lack of opportunity of new social networks. This workshop will help to generate ideas of where to develop new social networks, and how to maintain prior existing friendships as an adult.

It is our hope that this workshop will offer anyone who has been seeking a sense of community for adults trying to maintain friendships, some extra support and a safe space to dialogue with members of the community who are living the same experiences.
