TREK to TECH (Grades 8 to 10) 8/3-8/7/15

This workshop is designed for students to explore the consistently growing demand for STEM careers.  STEM refers to fields in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  The objective of this course is to expose STEM college bound students to the different career options in these fields.  The program will take a tour of Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.  Subsequent topics will include subjects like: Architecture, Computer Language, and Mathematics.  Introduction to the different roles each type of engineering plays in life will give a clearer understanding of what it takes to be an engineer.   Professionals in each field will be invited to present and answer questions of their work.   At the end of the program, students will have completed a portfolio indicating vital information about the occupation they plan on pursuing. Furthermore, students will be coached in giving a presentation themselves about their potential career choice.
