Symptoms, Strategies, and Support for Helping Children Manage 10/28/21 (Non-PDS Schools Only)

Audience: All School Personnel

Description: Stress is an unavoidable emotion that all children experience. As it can manifest differently and sometimes be disguised by other emotions, children’s stress can often be misunderstood and minimized by adults. In this experiential workshop, participants will learn ways to recognize stress in children and build strategies to help children combat stress. Areas of discussion will include: acknowledging and communicating about stress, promoting stress-free classrooms, and modeling wellness to elementary school aged children.

Presenters:  Dr. Meredith Drew, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, ACS  and Dr. Michelle Hinkle, Ph.D., LPC, ACS, Department of Special Education, Professional Counseling, and Disability Studies
