CTE 0500, Pre-Professional Seminar for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Alternate Route (50 hours, 0 credit)
This zero-credit seminar meets the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) requirements for 50 hours of pre-professional training (including 20 hours of clinical experience). It is open to those who already hold a Certificate of Eligibility (CE) in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) area and those without a CE in a CTE area who are interested in exploring the possibility of becoming a CTE teacher. Participants who successfully complete this seminar will receive a Certificate of Completion. This seminar has been designed to incorporate the four topics delineated in N.J.A.C. 6A:9B, i.e., classroom management, teaching diverse learners, New Jersey education law, and lesson planning. In addition, topics include an introduction to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS), New Jersey Professional Standards for Teachers (NJPST), and College and Career Ready Practices (C&CRP).
To meet the 50-hour requirement, previous 24-Hour course completers will participate in 10 course hours and 16 clinical hours as described below.

Section 6: Autism Spectrum Disorder
Section 9: Lesson Planning
Section 10: Education Law and Policy (HIB and Child Abuse Reporting)
