Morning Program: Kid Blogging! 

Rising 7-8 graders

Students will learn how to blog in a safe and secure website: www.kidblog.org. Students will learn how to express opinions in persuasive writing, write poetry, be a book critic, and write their own memoir. In addition, students can choose to write from different points of view using topics from our country's history. Students in the 7th and 8th grade will gain confidence in their writing with one-on-one guidance, instruction, and support.

Afternoon Program: Youth Talk Voice Your Opinion in Today's Culture

A dynamic social community where students can “voice their opinion” on today’s hottest issues. For example, media culture and how it continued to shape our understanding of the world. Through this course, students will have the opportunity to discuss topics which include: issues in the media, movies, sports, science, health, literature, and a variety of other personal interests will be incorporated. Students will participate in a multitude of educational activities focusing upon the development of their critical thinking, presentation, and research skills. Bring your opinions and voices, as this workshop allows you and your peers to communicate all of your great ideas!
