The Learner and the Learning Environment 1 establishes how Career and Technical Education teachers get to know students, understand varied learning needs, differences and strengths while respecting these differences, and modifying learning activities accordingly.  This module also provides CTE teachers with tools to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where all students are held to high standards.

The Cycle of Teaching for Planning and Assessment 1 is designed to introduce the Career and Technical Education teacher to developing effective lesson objectives which align with NJSLS, CRPS and CCTC standards.  The Cycle of Teaching for Planning and Assessment 1 prepares Career and Technical Education teachers to evaluate and use research to impact student learning.  CTE teachers will learn to connect content and skills of the discipline to the real world through the use of technology to access research materials and resources, as well as through project-based learning, simulations and other work-based opportunities.  In this module, the CTE teacher will be introduced to the various types of assessment and will explore assessments which measure learning objectives.

The Community of Practice Seminar 1 is where candidates build communication and collaboration skills for the purpose of reflection on practice.  Candidates seek to improve their understanding of essential life and career practices that lead to success.
