As the premier nationally recognized honor society for adult learners with more than 75 years of established history in higher education, Alpha Sigma Lambda represents the top non-traditional students for more than 300 institutions across the United States.

Alpha Sigma Lambda Is Recognized as The Official Honor Society For Adult Learners By The Association Of College Honor Societies.

Alpha Sigma Lambda’s aim is to recognize the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests at home and work.

1. An adult learner is defined as a student who meets one or more of the following criteria: is 24 years of age or older; works more than 30 hours per week; is financially independent; has dependents; and/or has veteran status.
2. Residency Requirement: Student members must have completed a minimum of twenty-four (24) graded semester hours for a baccalaureate degree and shall be matriculated students in an undergraduate degree program. (This does not include transfer credits.)
3. Those selected must have a minimum grade point index of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. The cumulative scholastic record of the student as interpreted by William Paterson University shall be the basis for computing scholastic eligibility.
