Acting and Auditioning (Resident) 7/11-7/15/16

Discover your unique talents and develop self-confidence and good communication skills to be used in any future career. A live mini-performance will showcase your creativity and talent! The program will end at noon on Friday.

College Resident Experience Description:

William Paterson University lays down the foundation to prepare student for success, with an option to stay on campus to experience college life.  While the focus is on academics and learning, the social experience that results from bringing students together is an integral part of our summer program.  Students discover the joy of living, studying, and relaxing on a beautiful suburban university campus with state-of-the-art facilities, design, and technology. Students will participate in structured and supervised evening activities and dine in our cafeteria (students will be assigned a roommate and two suitemates).  Resident students will participate in evening enrichment workshops with other Pre-College summer youth residents’ on-campus for social activities. College students are hired to mentor, supervise and reside with the resident students.   

This is an opportunity not to be missed!

Only students who have registered for a full-day or combination of two half-day programs (morning and afternoon) have the option to register for the College Resident Experience.

9AM to 4PM – Academic Classes (a full-day or combination of two half-day programs (morning and afternoon) 

4PM to 9PM – Evening Activities

Instructor Bio: Susan Rybin is an Award winning actress.  She performed in “Labors of Love” at the Lambs Theatre and in “Fireflies” at Thalia Spanish Theater, which she received the H.O.L.A Outstanding Achievement Award 2004.  Her performance in “Three Calla Lillies” at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre earned her the Premio ACE, for Best Actress in a dramatic role in 2009.  Susan also proudly received a Special Premio ACE in 2011, for her 30 years as a performer and Latino Youth educator through her accredited Rybin Studio of Drama.  And, her co-starring performance in “No Problemo Amigo” at Thalia Spanish Theater also got her aPremio ACE  nomination in 2011.   She later toured Colombia with “No Problemo Amigo” for the International Theatre Festival in Manizales, Medellin and Bogota.  Her recent performance was in the acclaimed “A Times Square Pinero” at the Times Square International Theater Festival.  Susan has been honored byEl Diario la Prensa as one of the most Distinguished Women of the Year 2000, and received La Tribuna’s Newspaper Distinguished Women Award in 2005.   She also received recognition by the Art-Sciences-Lettres of France receiving the Silver Medal for her outstanding career as an actress in 2006.
