Author and historian Dr. Brandy Schillace will give a talk and lead a discussion based on her article in the Scientific American: "The Forgotten History of the World's First Trans Clinic". Dr. Brandy Schillace is an author, historian, show host, and Editor of the Medical Humanities Journal. Her next nonfiction book, The Intermediaries, will tell the forgotten, daring history of the interwar Institute of Sexology in Berlin: trans activists, the first gender-affirming surgeries, and the fight for LGBTQ rights in the shadow of the Nazi Third Reich. 

This presentation is part of the WPU Office for Student Diversity and Inclusion's Transgender & Non-Binary Awareness Week. It is free and open to the public but requires registration. See the attached flyer for more details.
