WP Music Department hosts Composer-in-Residence, Omar Thomas
Thursday, December 2nd-4th, 2025 | Shea Center
WP’s 2025-2026 Composer-in-Residence, Omar Thomas, is an award-winning American composer and educator known for his vibrant, socially conscious works that blend classical, jazz, and Black musical traditions. He will join us on campus for a three-day residency during which he will work with the WP Bands, students and give a Midday discussion.
The residency includes several open rehearsals of Dr. Thomas' music, a Midday discussion and Q & A, and a culminating concert on December 4th at 7:30 PM. The WP community is invited to all on-campus events.
