Over 40 million American adults have some college, no credential. Every adult learner deserves a chance to fulfill their educational dreams. Many have the drive to re-enroll but need support as they navigate their return to higher education. To better champion this population of students, William Paterson University is continuing a partnership with ReUp Education, an organization that helps colleges and universities re-enroll stop-out students. Through this collaboration, ReUp will leverage technology to help WP find and connect with stop-out students, as well as provide them with a ReUp Success Coach to offer personalized, one-on-one support during their transition back to life as students and while they are active students.
Why ReUp?
Each year, millions of students dropout of college or university. The reasons students stop working towards their degree are multi-dimensional, with the primary barriers being: Financial, Work, Family obligations, Health-related issues, and Motivation. Making the decision to return and taking the steps necessary to re-enter can take months before it finally leads them back to their first class.
The ReUp Approach
ReUp uses an approach that combines data, technology, and humanity to find, engage, re-enroll, and support stopped-out students to degree completion.
Data: Through predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and learnings from the largest dataset of stopped-out students, ReUp identifies student personas to personalize engagement and ensure better outcomes.
Technology: ReUp leverages a multi-channel communication approach and proprietary technology for managing student interactions.
People: The ReUp coaching team connects with students on a human level to help them define their “big picture” and educational goals, and overcome obstacles in their path to return to school. ReUp Success Coaches provide support through the re-enrollment and registration processes; continuing their support through the census of the learner’s first term.
A Different Kind Of Partnership
Success Coaches strive to ensure that students have a deep understanding of what to expect when they return and are equipped with the tools and resources to help them succeed. A ReUp Success Coach does not replace the student’s campus support team. They are an added resource that supports the student and helps them find the agency to complete their degree.
