Updated to reflect a new date:
We are writing to inform you that Information Technology will soon be evaluating a change in WPUNJ's Office 365 security policy that is intended to restrict OneDrive client synchronization of files to only domain-joined (i.e. university) computers. This change will take place after the spring semester (anticipated to take place in early June) and is intended to enhance the security of our systems and to protect sensitive information stored within WPUNJ's OneDrive and SharePoint cloud storage.
As you are aware, cyber threats are increasing day by day, and it is our responsibility to ensure the security and integrity of university data. By restricting OneDrive client synchronization to only university computers, we are adding an additional later of protection from potential security breaches and safeguarding the university data stored in Office 365 cloud storage.
With this change, employees or students using the OneDrive client on personal (non-university) computers will no longer be able to sync files in OneDrive or SharePoint with those personal computers. You will still be able to access OneDrive files through the Office 365 web portal (www.wpunj.edu/365) on any device with an internet connection.
We understand that this change may cause some inconvenience, but it is necessary to ensure the security of our systems and the data that is stored within OneDrive.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Information Technology Help Desk for assistance at www.wpunj.edu/helpdesk.
Thank you for your understanding.
