WP Real Men Read program seeks readers to conduct read alouds

WP Real Men Read Program - seeks William Paterson students, administrators, faculty, and staff participants for virtual read alouds to K-12 students 

In 2024, the WP Real Men Read program was honored by the Library of Congress for its literacy work. The program was selected as an Emerging Strategies Honoree, which recognizes literacy initiatives that show promise during their first 5 years.

The WP Real Men Read program is looking for positive role models from across the WP Community to read to pre-school and elementary school students in northern New Jersey and demonstrate their enthusiasm for reading! 

Real Men Read is a national program that was started by the Chicago Public Schools in 2006. 

The WP Real Men Read program will take place throughout March to help celebrate the National Education Association's Read Across America initiative whose mission is to promote the joy of reading and literacy among children and young adults.
