Did you know that you may be able to earn a Peace Corps Prep Certificate form the Peace Corps just by taking classes and doing civic engagement?!  Join us for lunch and learn about WP's Peace Corps Prep Program, requirememts and advantages to earning the certificate.   Participating in the program does not require you to join the Peace Corps, but give you advantages if you do or are looking for federal jobs after graduation.  Open to all students, any major.   More info at https://www.wpunj.edu/campus-activities/peace-corps-prep-student-program

The William Paterson Peace Corps Prep Program will prepare you for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. To accomplish this, you'll build four core competencies through interrelated coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development support. These four competencies are the following:

  1. Training and experience in a work sector
  2. Foreign Language Skills
  3. Intercultural competence
  4. Professional and leadership development

The William Paterson University Peace Corps Prep Program (PCP Prep) will be open to all undergraduate students, regardless of their major, minor, department, academic year, or participation in other programs (though students must complete all requirements prior to graduation). The program will include the option for any student to pursue any Peace Corps' six sectors (education, health, environment, agriculture, youth in development, and community economic development) through designated academic courses and curricular and extra-curricular civic engagement opportunities both on and off campus.
