Deadline to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan
In accordance with New Jersey law, all full-time students are required to have health insurance. This requirement can be met through the University Sponsored Health Insurance Plan or your own personal health insurance provider. With this program, the University automatically billed all full-time students for health insurance plan for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Health Insurance Enrollment/Waiver Information
Students are required to either enroll or waive-out of the University Sponsored Health Insurance Plan each academic year. If you plan to keep the University Sponsored Health Insurance Plan, you may self-enroll prior to the University enrollment period. If you have other coverage that is comparable to the University Sponsored Health Insurance Plan and do not wish to supplement your plan with the University's Plan, you must complete the on-line waiver form to have this charge removed from your bill.

WPUNJ has partnered with University Health Plans (UHP) to administer the plan and help with waiver, enrollment, or benefit-related questions. The deadline date to waive or enroll in the 2023/2024 University Sponsored Health Insurance plan is September 29, 2023. If you do not complete the waiver by the deadline date or self-enroll, you will be automatically enrolled in the Aetna Health Insurance after the waiver deadline.
