Protect your WP account with Duo Multifactor Authentication

Please read the information below regarding adding an extra layer of security to your WPUNJ account

As of February 4th 2025, all enrolled students will be required to utilize Duo multifactor authentication.

What is Duo?
Similar to two-factor or multifactor authentication used by banking, shopping, and social media sites, Duo multifactor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your WP account and its access to your WPconnect, WP email, Blackboard and other university systems. This extra security protects access to your information and also helps prevent against scams targeting employees and students.

We encourage you to enroll now.

How does Duo work?
After entering your username and password, you will be prompted to approve your login with the Duo Mobile smartphone app. Watch the Duo for Students video for more information.

How do I enable Duo on my WPUNJ account?
Note: you will need a smartphone to install the Duo mobile app

1. Login to WPconnect
2. In WPconnect, click on your name (either at the top right corner or in the mobile menu) and then click My Profile
3. In the My Profile menu, click Enroll in Duo Multifactor Authentication
4. Read the information on the Duo information page and then click Continue to Enrollment
5. On the enrollment page, click Start Setup and then follow the instructions on the enrollment page (make sure to have your mobile device available.)

What if I get a new phone?

Not a problem! If you change mobile devices, or if your Duo App becomes disassociated with your account you will need to reactivate your App. Use the passcode authentication method, or use a secondary device, to authenticate to WPconnect and visit the Duo Device Management Portal to reactivate your Duo App on your new device. Students can utilize duo push or passcode on their previous device to authenticate to the Duo Device Management Portal or create a one-time bypass code.
