New Pioneer Parking Garage System Announcement

To the William Paterson University’s campus community:

Effective December 18, 2023, a new modernized parking system will be activated on the campus parking garage deck. Of the many improvements, the most noticeable change will be the use of a license plate reader to gain access to the garage.

If you are a registered parking garage employee or student through a yearly or semester plan, you may need to update your vehicle license plate information. Please login into the WPconnect portal (wpconnect.wpunj.edu) and click on the “Vehicle Parking Registration” link under the “General Info & Service” tab. If you are a new employee or student, make sure you submit the most up to date vehicle license plate information during the registration process. To keep the parking garage system up to date, we will regularly send all registered users requests for license plate information updates. In addition, your campus ID can be used as a backup method of entry in case of an unreadable license plate. In that case, you will be able to scan your campus ID right at the entry and exit stations.

For all guests or non-registered users, the payment process has been modernized. Cash and Pioneer Express cards are no longer accepted. Credit or debit cards will be the only method of payment accepted in the parking garage. Guests will pull a ticket upon arrival at the parking garage's entry gate station. All guest users will have the choice to pay either at the exit gate pay station or through a parking mobile app before exiting the parking garage. On exit, all guest users will scan their ticket at the exit pay station and will be able to exit upon a valid credit/debit payment or exit automatically if already paid by the parking mobile app.
