William Paterson University invites applications for the position of Associate Director, Educational Opportunity (EOF) Fund.  Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program and Academic Achievement, the Associate Director, Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)  provides oversight and leadership to the daily operations of the EOF Program.  This is a 12-month, full-time position.

Opportunities to contribute include the development and execution of comprehensive programs that enhance students’ educational, persistence, retention, graduation rates and academic success.  S/he works independently and collaboratively with all levels in the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating and monitoring academic and retention Program related activities.
  • Providing support and development services for EOF students which include individual and group counseling, academic advisement and developing retention focused programs.
  • Developing and managing the EOF Summer Program.
  • Developing, coordinating and managing recruitment and interviewing processes for in-coming freshman students.
  • Assessing and following academic progress and probation programs.
  • Developing evaluation methods to measure departmental goals.
  • Tracking cohort retention and persistence trends.
  • Developing budgets and providing accurate and timely related reports.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Counseling Education, Psychology or Higher Education Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in a higher education institution that includes two years of program development and implementation of EOF Summer Programs.
  • Supervisory experience which includes summer hiring, training and evaluating staff.
  • Excellence in interpersonal presentation and oral/written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings and weekends.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Ellucian’s Banner Student.
  • Hobsons Starfish platform.
  • Able to apply technology for practical and timely application
