Technical Assistant

Reporting to the Director or designee, in the Campus Activities, Service and Leadership Department (CASL) will assist in performing duties related to budget, student staff supervision, event scheduling and promotions of the department and student organization programs and functions including leadership development, civic engagement, orientation, and supporting student organization. 

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in managing budgets, requisitions, accounts and vendors
  • Assist with preparation and scheduling of CASL programs
  • Manage Pioneer Life roster system of clubs and organizations
  • Responsible for hiring and supervising student office staff, assigning workload and reviewing progress
  • Monitor, review and disseminate emails from CASL account
  • Assist with technology issues and monitor office equipment and software updates
  • Create and promote CASL events advertising through social media; radio and the Beacon
  • Update and maintain CASL web page
  • Perform data entry and clerical duties

  Required Qualifications:

Two (2) years of experience in reviewing, verifying, authorizing, and/or providing information and assistance of a technical or fiscal nature in a public or private organization.  Note: Applicants who do not possess the required experience may substitute semester hour credits from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.

NOTE : As this is a Provisional Opportunity, when announced by the NJ Civil Service Commission, the appointee will be required to file for, take and pass the exam for this title.
