Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund Program and Academic Achievement, the incumbent provides oversight and leadership to the daily operations of the EOF Program. 

William Paterson University is the third most diverse public university in New Jersey. Opportunities to Contribute: Development and execution of comprehensive programs which will enhance students’ educational, persistence, retention, graduation rates and academic success.  S/he works independently and collaboratively with all levels in the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and monitors academic and retention related activities for the Program.
  • Provides support/developmental services for EOF students including individual and group counseling, academic advisement and the development of retention focused programs.
  • Develops and manages the EOF Summer Program
  • Develops, coordinates and manages recruitment and interviewing processes for in-coming freshman students
  • Conducts follow up on academic progress and academic probation programs.
  • Tracks and develops assessments and evaluations
  • Develops budgets and provides reports related to the position.


  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Counseling Education, Psychology or Higher Education Administration from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in a higher education institution that includes two years of program development and implementation of EOF Summer Programs.
  • Supervisory experience which includes hiring, training and evaluating staff.
  • Excellence in interpersonal presentation and oral/written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Ellucian’s Banner Student.
  • Hobsons Starfish platform.
