The Program Coordinator works with the Department Chair to support faculty and student scholarly work and professional development, programmatic needs, and grant activity in collaboration with the department faculty. The selected candidate reports to the Chair of the Department of Special Education and Counseling.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: budget management, grant writing/reporting, organizing complex events and projects in support of advanced expertise for University faculty and students, as well as assisting in promoting and advertising through delivery of program-related events. S/he conducts and hires tutor candidates; matches tutors to students for the Reading Clinic based on needs assessment and prepares correspondence. Additionally, collects data as well as preparing state and federal mandated reports.
Master’s degree in Education or Education-related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years experience working in the area of advanced teacher preparation or counseling. Experience with management of complex grants and budgets preferred. S/he must possess demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in P-12 or a higher education setting; excellent scholarly writing and oral communication skills are required. Experience working with literacy, or special education programs strongly preferred.
