William Paterson University invites applications for a one-year assistant professor appointment in the Department of Anthropology effective fall 2017.  

Ph.D. in Anthropology with a specialization in medical anthropology and teaching experience required.  Advanced standing ABD candidates may be considered at the rank of instructor.  

We are seeking applicants with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, preference will be given to candidates specializing in medical anthropology with a background in interdisciplinary and biocultural approaches to health and/or public health.  In addition to courses in medical anthropology, the 4-4 teaching load may include courses in introductory anthropology, seminar in public anthropology, and anthropology courses related to the University Core Curriculum, as needed.
