William Paterson University is seeking applications for a Student Transitions Coordinator. The Coordinator contributes to and oversees several significant operational components within the office of Transfer Student Experience (TSE), specific to acclimation and transitional programming and student success and retention initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Transfer Experience, the selected candidate serves as the front-line administrator responsible for providing services and resources to transfer and readmitted students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coordinating, managing and executing activities and special events such as Academic Success Sessions, Accepted Students’ Day, Open Houses, and Student Orientations. The selected candidate will oversee and coordinate outreach and support initiatives to students in academic jeopardy utilizing the Early Alert system and manage a social media plan and outreach campaign to communicate with students. In addition, s/he compiles data and prepares comprehensive reports containing findings and recommendations on cohort statistics and other TSE reporting as required.

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s is preferred. Two (2) years of professional experience working in a higher education environment; excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, organizational and analytical skills as well as accuracy and detail orientation are required. Demonstrated knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse population; work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments and a valid driver’s license are also required. Experience working with non-traditional or transfer student populations as well as knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Ellucian Banner are preferred.
