William Paterson University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in Strategic Communication in the Department of Communication to begin September 2017.

The position is responsible for teaching classes in Public Relations, Strategic Multi-Platform Writing, Integrated Communication, Mobile/Social Media, Web metrics/analytics and related areas at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda; participate in the life of the university contributing to curriculum development; serve on committees; advise students; and attend University and College functions.

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. (ABD candidates will be considered but the Ph.D. must be obtained by September 1) in communication or related discipline or a Master’s degree with substantial professional experience in public relations and/or marketing. Experience in writing, editing, and managing content for blogs, corporate websites, social media platforms and other similar platforms required. A clear research/publication agenda is required. A record of professional and/or scholarly publication is preferred. Applicants must have a minimum of two years teaching or relevant professional experience.
