Reporting to the Vice President for Student Development, the Director of Judicial Affairs and Dispute Resolution Services serves as the Chief Judicial Officer for the Student Code of Conduct and provides leadership for the campus judicial system, as well as leadership, training and guidance for dispute resolution between students. The Director will be responsible for training staff of both judicial and dispute resolution areas; management of all judicial records and assessment of sanctions and their effectiveness in changing inappropriate behavior. The selected candidate will design, develop, and facilitate educational programs and presentations in the areas such as ethical development, conflict resolution, and student behavior issues. In addition, will work collaboratively with academic departments and administrative offices on issues requiring student development perspective; offer consultation and referral for staff and students on matters related to student’s concerns such as mediation of inter-personal conflict and interpreting policies and procedures.
A Master’s degree in student personnel services or related field is required, as is a minimum of four years of professional experience involving judicial affairs responsibilities at a college or university, or in the field of education, higher education or related field. Juris Doctor preferred. The successful candidate will have knowledge of varied computer applications, preference given to judicial software, as well as excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
