Pamela Brillante

Professor • Special Education, Professional Counseling and Disability Studies

Dr. Pamela Brillante is a Professor in the Department of Special Education, Professional Counseling, and Disability Studies. She is a specialist in Disability Studies and Early Childhood Special Education. Dr. Brillante developed the BA in Disability Studies here at William Paterson University, making it one of the first 20 undergraduate degree programs in Disability Studies in the country.

Dr. Brillante, an alumni of the William Paterson University College of Education, has had a long professional career as an early childhood special education public school educator and administrator, as well as a NJ state specialist in Early Childhood Special Education. Dr. Brillante was appointed by Governor Murphy to serve as a member of the NJ State Special Education Advisory Council as the representative of the higher education teacher preparation programs in the state.

Dr. Brillante continues to work with public schools across NJ to develop high quality inclusive early childhood programs and volunteer her time with Special Olympics NJ.
