July 18 – July 21: (4 Days) Grades 6 – 8 Science Fiction and Futurism

Science Fiction and Futurism: What will the future look like? Is it here? We are living in a future both predicted and unimagined by past science fiction writers. This course will look at past fictional visions of the present day, and compare them with present day fictional visions of tomorrow. Students will begin with the lens of midcentury futurism like Star Trek and The Jetsons, and connect themes through contemporary futurism like Black Mirror and Westworld.
