Pop Culture and Me: How we Relate to the Images Around Us

Course Description

“Relax! It's just a movie!” Is it, though? This program introduces students to various topics in social studies through the use of feature films, animation, television, and streaming shows. Students study such issues as race relations, gender roles, family dynamics, and wealth and poverty by viewing and discussing favorite films and shows. In this fun and entertaining series , students decide how to understand some of the messages we consume when we enjoy our entertainment.

This is part 1 of 2. Part 2 runs during the spring. Dates TBD. 

This Class runs for 4 weeks IN-PERSON: 2/26/22, 3/5/22, 3/12/22, 3/19/22

COVID Protocol: All students, vaccinated and unvaccinated, are required to wear a mask at all time.
