August 2-5: Kitchen Engineers

Create a food budget and look through newspapers and plan a meal. Students will understand budgeting and what to cook based on what is on sale and what they would like. The main part of the class will also learn basic meal prep. Students will cook a basic food every day. Nut free. Eggs, meats and desserts will be cooked over the week.  We will create a solar cooker that is capable of cooking a hot dog. Students will understand the basics of what goes into cooking and how to shop for food.
